Once again.. it's been awhile since I've updated. It's because
I'm terribly busy again. I've moved in with my parents in Venice,
Florida again to save some money. I'm also working hard for my
Mom's new business.
But i'll talk more about that later.
Right now, I'd rather talk about an absolutely magnificent film I saw last week. My parents and I have become members of the Sarasota Film Society. My Mom and I went to see 3 installments of the Cine-World Film Festival that was showing at the infamous Burns Court Theatre in Sarasota.. where all the indie and foreign films are shown. I'm so glad to have that avenue back again.
The last movie of the three we saw together as a family.. and fittingly, on Veteran's Day.. or Rememberance Day as it was called where I grew up. The movie is called Joyeux Noël or Merry Christmas and is about WW1.. in 1914.. when three different sets of soldiers.. French, Scottish and Germans set aside the war to celebrate Christmas together in 'No Man's Land'.. a section of land between the trenches.
The music and acting was marvelous. I spent much of the film in tears because I was just so moved by the generosity and spirit of the soldiers. Of course, there are sad parts as well.
It was also good to get to see a film in the three languages I know and test out my skills. ;)
Anyways.. if you get a chance to see it.. do.
I cannot wait to add this to my collection. Actually, I hope I get the chance to see it on the big screen again.
Other than that.. I've just been steadily padding out my own DVD collection. I just bought both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands. Haven't watched either yet.. I think that's because I'm hooked on too many tv shows right now since I have cable back. Still watching my regulars of Surface, Medium and Bones.. and have added Lost as well.
Okay.. enough of that. I'll try to give a better update later.
